Countdown to Departure

This week-end we hit the one month countdown to our upcoming adventure. Today Adam will be picking up some tools for our friend Guy, who is living in Petionville, a suburb of Port-au-Prince. He and his wife are our gracious hosts for the first leg of our trip, and likely our lifeline for the entire stay. Guy and Dorine were assigned as missionaries in Haiti years ago, and just returned after raising their daughter in Canada.

Guy and Dorine have a darling apartment with a nice balcony.  However, when it comes to some light remodeling of their place, Guy is like a kid in a candy store, and has sent us lists of tools and supplies to bring.  We happily obliged, considering one of his projects is constructing the bed we will be sleeping on!
